BOOK NEXT EVENTSSome say that once you go glamping, you’ll never go back camping, glamping meaning bringing all possible urban comfort to the great outdoors.
You’ve probably asked yourself many times what is glamping and what exactly makes it so special.
Allow us to introduce you to one of the most spectacular ways of traveling and experiencing the world.
Glamping or “glamorous camping” is when untamed nature meets sheer comfort. It’s a totally unique way of experiencing remote and awe-inspiring destinations, from the convenience of your luxurious tent, bungalow, or treehouse.
Glamping allows you to immerse yourself in nature, while exploring the local culture and traditions, far from the madding crowd. It’s basically a state-of-the-art nomadism.
Glamping is more than heated tents and satin bed sheets. It’s a lifestyle choice, a powerful statement, and an expanding global movement.
Romania rallied to this amazing global trend in 2016, along with the establishment of Ursa Mică Glamping Resort. For the first time, Romanians got to experience the innovative concept of glamping, meaning a riveting adventure on a 40,000 sqm exclusive property, with amazing amenities and services, at the gates of Transylvania.
Hundreds of guests followed and soon after, we were deeply honored to witness the glamping movement grow, as other entrepreneurs followed our lead.
Camping’s probably the oldest and most basic form of traveling. You only need a small tent, a sleeping bag and an essentials’ backpack to explore the great outdoors and experience wilderness to the fullest.
While camping, you only bring the basics for survival and carry them on your shoulders. You wear a very limited amount of clothes, that you’ll probably wash at home or in a mountain river. Also, the only food you’ll be eating is the one you’ve brought along. As for the bare necessities…well, there’s only nature for that.
On the other hand, glamping is what we like to call upscale camping. Here, the size of the shelter and the available facilities make all the difference. When you say “glamping” you say heated tents, wooden floors, toilets with toiletries, restaurants, wellness, spa, retreats, a full package of exclusive glamping services and the list continues. Yet, apart from all modern amenities and urban luxury, there’s also a spiritual side of the story, that you can only understand by living it.
From afar, glamping might seem less adventurous than camping, yet we grant you it’s not. It’s just a tad safer and way more glamorous.
