Glamping Tents

At Ursa Mică Glamping Resort we have 12 identical tents, 3 meters high (that can host up to 48 guests), each one being a „room with a view” towards Piatra Craiului mountains.

Set on wooden platforms, all tents are equipped with nice furniture, comfy beds and a vintage looking stove to keep you warm during the night. The very best Carpathians accommodation for adventurous, yet glamorous travelers.

The air flows freely thanks to the sustainable and waterproof cotton fabric. Packed with all the comfort you need and the maximum that nature will allow.

The tents are 3 meters high, seated on a wooden platform above ground. The platform also acts as a small terrace, where you can enjoy your coffee or get a nice tan.

Inside, the tents are equipped with furniture to match, comfy beds and a vintage looking stove, that will rock you to sleep, while listening to the crackling logs.

Each tent has a fireplace, beds with premium mattresses (polyurethane foam), pillows, duvet and sateen mixed with cotton bed sheets. Towels and bathrobes are also included.

All linings are cleaned and sanitized by a professional dry cleaning.

Each tent is equipped with a carbon monoxide sensor and fire extinguisher. Our heated tents are as safe as they can be.

You won’t find any chargers inside the tents, but there is a special area inside the restaurant, where you can plug-in your phone, laptop, or any other device.

The tents are lit by a special flashlight offered once you check-in. Every tent has a chandelier with electrical candles which provides a cozy atmosphere when the night comes.

Stargazing at the clear and endless Carpathian Sky inspired us to name our glamping tents after the most intriguing stars and constellations.

In Greek mythology, Andromeda, the daughter of Cassiopeia, was chained to a rock to be eaten by the sea monster Cetus. Fortunately, she was saved by the daring hero Perseus, who married her afterwards. The constellation is most prominent during autumn evenings in the Northern Hemisphere.

Aquarius is the 11th sign of the zodiac, represented by the Water Bearer, or sometimes simply by three squiggly lines. One of the oldest constellations, this 12-star alignment has no particular bright stars, yet it’s easy to spot with a telescope.

The smallest constellation in the zodiac, the Capricornus means "horned goat" or "goat horn" in Latin, and it is commonly represented in the form of a sea goat: a mythical creature that is half goat, half fish. It’s also a faint, yet very present constellation.

Centaurus

One of the largest and most visible constellations, the Centaur (a mythical creature, half-man, half-horse) is a radiant constellation in the southern sky. Centaurus contains several sparkling stars. Its alpha and beta ones are used as "pointers" to help observers find the constellation Crux.

Lyra

Lyra, commonly known as The Harp, is a modest constellation. Its brightest star, Vega, is one of the brightest in the night sky and forms a corner of the famed Summer Triangle asterism. In Greek mythology, Lyra represents the lyre of Orpheus.

Pegasus

Pegasus is a constellation in the northern sky, named after the winged white horse Pegasus, in Greek mythology. Pegasus was a symbol of might and divine intervention. It can be often observed with the naked eye.

Phoenix

Named after the mythical fire bird that rises from its own ashes, the Phoenix constellation can be easily spotted on the warmest summer nights.

Pluto

The tiny planet of Pluto, or the ninth planet from the sun is part of the Sagittarius constellation. It’s a faint and dark star, named after Pluto, god of the underworld in ancient Roman mythology.

Scorpius

Straddling the Milky Way, this constellation represents a scorpion and it’s also the eighth sign of the zodiac. Scorpius contains many bright stars, including Antares, "rival of Mars," so named because of its distinct reddish hue.

Venus

Venus shines so brightly that it is the first “star” to appear in the sky after the Sun sets, or the last to disappear before the Sun rises. The second planet from the Sun, it was named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty. As the brightest natural object in Earth's night sky after the Moon, Venus can cast shadows and can be visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.

Its name is Latin for the sails of a ship, and it was originally part of a larger constellation, the ship Argo Navis, that helped sailors navigate before the invention of the compass. It’s a southern constellation, most of the time visible after midnight.

Orion or “the Hunter” is a blazing constellation visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations in the night sky. It is named after Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology, whose skills and bravery brought the wrath of the Sun god (Apollo) upon him. Still defiant, Orion’s belt continues to shine throughout the night sky.

Curiosity

The car-sized Mars rover Curiosity was designed to explore the Gale crater on Mars. It was launched in November 2011 to investigate Martian climate and geology. Its mission was a total success: Mars proved to be favorable for microbial life and human inhabitants in the future. It’s still on duty, by the way.

Perseverance, or “Percy” for friends, is another Mars rover assigned to examine the Jezero crater on Mars, as part of NASA's Mars 2020 mission. The rover's goals include identifying ancient Martian environments capable of supporting life, seeking out evidence of former microbial life, collecting rock and soil samples and testing oxygen production from the Martian atmosphere, for future crewed missions.

Hydra

The largest modern constellation in the Southern hemisphere was named after a famous water monster in Greek Mythology. The Hydra had many heads and if one of them was cut off, another would immediately grow in its place. However, Hercules' nephew, Iolaus, seared the necks with a torch, to prevent them from growing, thus enabling Hercules to overcome the beast.

This northern constellation was named the vain queen Cassiopeia, mother of Andromeda, in Greek mythology, who boasted about her unrivaled beauty. It’s easily recognizable due to its distinctive 'W' shape, formed by five bright stars.

Gemini

Gemini

Located in the northern celestial hemisphere, this constellation is associated in Greek Mythology with the famous twins Castor and Pollux. After distinguishing themselves during the Trojan War and the famous Argonauts’ Expedition, the warrior twins embarked on several dangerous ventures that ended up in Castor’s death. Aggrieved, Pollux asked Zeus to let him share his own immortality with his twin brother, and so they were transformed into the constellation Gemini.

In Greek mythology, Sagittarius is usually identified as a centaur: half human, half horse. Some say it may be the wise centaur Chiron, the tutor of many famous heroes and demi-gods such as Hercules, Jason, Achilles, Asclepios and Actaeon. It is said that Chiron devised this constellation to guide the Argonauts in their quest for the Golden Fleece.

Taurus or "the Bull" in Latin, is a large and prominent constellation in the Northern Hemisphere also one of the oldest, dating back to the Early Bronze Age, when it marked the position of the Sun during the spring equinox. Its importance to the agricultural calendar influenced various bull depictions in all ancient cultures. Taurus hosts two of the nearest open clusters to Earth, the Pleiades and the Hyades, both of which are visible to the naked eye.

This small Southern sky constellation represents a bird-of-paradise, and its name means "without feet" in Greek, because the bird-of-paradise was once wrongly believed to lack feet. Its five brightest stars are all reddish in hue. The brightest is the Alpha Apodis, an orange giant that can easily be spotted in summer, as it shines 928 times brighter than the Sun. Good thing it’s much further away.

Delphinus

Delphinus is a small constellation in the Northern Celestial Hemisphere that symbolizes a dolphin with four stars representing the body and one the tail. According to Greek mythology, the sea god Poseidon wanted to marry Amphitrite, a beautiful nereid. Desperate to protect her virginity, she fled to the mountains. Her suitor sent out several searchers, including a certain Delphinus, who persuaded her to accept Poseidon's courtship. Out of gratitude, the god placed the image of a dolphin among the stars.

Aries is one of the constellations of the zodiac. The name Aries is Latin for ram, and it’s been represented as such since late Babylonian times. Before that, the stars of Aries formed a farmhand. Aries is a relatively dim constellation, possessing only four bright stars. In ancient Egyptian astronomy, Aries was associated with the god Amon-Ra, who was depicted as a man with a ram's head and represented fertility and creativity.

Translated as “maiden” in Latin, the Virgo constellation can be easily found through its brightest star, Spica. Virgo is prominent in the spring sky in the northern hemisphere, visible all night in March and April. As the largest zodiac constellation, the Sun takes 44 days to pass through it, longer than any other.

Norma is a small constellation in the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. Its name is Latin for normal, referring to a right angle, and is variously considered to represent a rule, a carpenter's square, a set square or a level. It remains one of the 88 modern constellations. Four of Norma's brighter stars—Gamma, Delta, Epsilon and Eta—make up a square in the field of faint stars.
