Situated in a picturesque area, very close to Campulung Muscel city, at almost 800 meters altitude, in Nămăeşti village, this 14th century monastery is one of the oldest nunneries in Wallachia.
The church of the monastery is found in a cave, which also houses an icon of the Mother of God performing miracles. A legend says that the Apostle Andrew slept in that cave.
The church of the Namaiesti monastery is built inside the mountain rocks.
